Transient, Non-Community Water Systems - these are public water systems that are not a community water system and that serve 25 persons per day at least 60 days out of the year.

State Small Water Systems - these are not public water systems, but they serve water for human consumption through at least 5, but not more than 14 service connections and do not regulary serve more than 24 yearlong residents.

Each type of system has different requirements for intial water quality testing and for routine testing on a quarterly, monthly, annual, triennial, etc. basis. These monitoring requirements can be found to the left.
