SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST, 2019
We would like to invite you to our community event. The California Coastal Cleanup effort is Saturday, September 21st, 2019. We know that school students in the past have participated in and are interested in a great community service activity. We are trying to involve all schools in the area to volunteer and help clean-up our rivers and water ways. The State of California Coastal Commission works with local counties to do a Statewide clean-up. Eben Schwartz, Marine Debris Program Manager has more information and will be updating the web site as we are getting closer to the date in September.
Let me know if that sounds interesting to Staff and Students so we can discuss the logistics. The location is 981 Shad Rd. Marysville, Ca. 95901. The time will be from 8:30 am - 12:30pm, hydration & lunch is provided. Historically, Staff that teach Civics and Community Engagements have needed community volunteer events for their students to participate in.
Also, when it is possible, send us an approximate head count of students who will participate sometime when possible. We like to arrange snacks, water, gifts, and lunches for everyone and want to try to make sure everyone is provided for. Since this is our first crack at all high schools being involved, we will definitely over stock this year.
Please feel free to contact me for anything else you need, or any concerns you have.
Thank you for your participation,
Branden Hendrix, R.E.H.S.
