Youth Programs

Probation and School Success
This collaborative program model places four deputy probation officers in two school districts. Schools include Lindhurst High School, Marysville High School, McKenney Intermediate School, and Thomas E. Mathews Community School. Officers provide non-traditional probation services, prevention, and early intervention to youth and their families.

This collaborative undertaking with Marysville Joint Unified School District targets truant youth in Yuba County. The Truant Officer is a member of the Student Attendance Review Board (SARB) and provides outreach services to youth and their families.

Substance Abuse Treatment and Education
An evidence-based program designed to encourage, motivate, and empower youth to make sober and positive changes in their lives. Our goal is to provide Substance Abuse Treatment in group or individuals settings. We work together to build a safe place where the youth can freely talk about their substance use, and we strive for them to learn to live a clean and sober life.

Individual and Family Therapy
A licensed Marriage and Family Therapist/Clinical Social Worker provides individual and family therapy using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy addressing the youth and family's assessed needs.

Anger Management
Assists youth in identifying changes the body goes through when angry and offers strategies for managing anger in a responsible way.

Independent Living Program
Teaches life skills to youth such as budgeting, job searches, resume building, mock job interviews, banking, education/financial aid, and how to obtain important personal documents.

Healthy Communication
Clarifies how to recognize the difference between unhealthy and healthy relationships while also learning skills for effective communication.

Victim Awareness
Examines the ripple effect of one's behavior on themselves, their families, their victims, their victims' families, and community. Helps youth begin to consider the idea of taking personal responsibility for their irresponsible and criminal behavior.

Tobacco Cessation
This is a preventative program, teaching the risks and hazards associated with tobacco use. Youth will learn long-term physical, emotional, and legal risks of using tobacco.
