Captain Allan Garza is a graduate of the Butte College Academy and graduated with class #94 in June of 1996. Captain Garza began his career at the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department on December 1, 1991 as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff in the Operations Division. Captain Garza promoted to a Deputy Sheriff after graduating from the police academy and was assigned as a patrol deputy in the Operations Division and has held the positions of Detective, Field Training Officer, SWAT team member, Patrol Sergeant, Gang Detective Sergeant, Investigation’s Lieutenant and Patrol Lieutenant. He was promoted to the rank of Captain in January of 2019. Captain Garza currently manages the Jail Division of the Sheriff’s Department. Captain Garza is a graduate of the POST Supervisory Leadership Institute and has an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from California Coast University.
Captain Garza and his wife Kristie have two children, Alysa and Jace. Captain Garza was born and raised in Yuba County, where he and his family reside. Captain Garza spends his free time coaching a competitive youth shooting team, working out and spending as much time in the outdoors hunting and fishing with family and friends.
