Captain Joe Million started his career in law enforcement with the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office on March 17th, 1997. He moved to Yuba County when he was hired and remains here with plans of completing his career with the department. Captain Million and his wife Lisa enjoy spending time with their four children and eight grandchildren. Captain Million is an avid hunter and fisherman, with a strong passion for waterfowl hunting.
Captain Million is a graduate of the Butte College Law Enforcement Academy of which he was part of the 96th Basic, Class of 1996. Captain Million has an Associates and Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice. Captain Million has previously held the rank of Sergeant and Lieutenant. He has held assignments of Detective, a Field Training Officer, the Field Training Coordinator, and the Cadet Program Coordinator, the Crisis Negotiation Team Lead along with many other ancillary and liaison duties for the department. Captain Million believes the key to the success of the department and the community is to work with each other and respect everyone. Strength is in the numbers, and by adding the community as part of our team, the strength of Yuba County will be unbeatable.
