Jail Lt. Susan Jensen

Lieutenant Susan Jensen started her career in law enforcement in April 2002 as a cadet with Yuba City Police Department.  She joined the Yuba County Sheriff's Office in November 2004 as a Reserve Correctional Officer and was promoted to a full time correctional officer in April 2007.

Susan has held the positions of: communication team member, contraband suppression unit team leader, jail training officer, cadet advisor, defensive tactics instructor, impact weapon instructor, classification officer, and correctional sergeant.  Lieutenant Jensen has been a member of the Technical Rescue Team (Dive Team) since August 2012 and assumed the role of team leader in January 2020.  Additionally, Lieutenant Jensen is the Sheriff's Posse liaison, the department's search and rescue coordinator, and is a search and rescue K9 handler.

Lieutenant Jensen promoted to Lieutenant in September 2021.  Lieutenant Jensen oversees the jail division of the Sheriff's Office.  Lieutenant Jensen studied Criminal Justice at Chico State University and has an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement and an Associates Degree in Corrections. 

During her free time, Lieutenant Jensen likes to spend as much time as possible in the outdoors and enjoys hiking, swimming, and spending time with family and friends
