Lieutenant Nathan Lybarger

Lieutenant Lybarger joined the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office in 2005.  He and his wife have been married for fourteen years, and with their four children, they have called the Yuba-Sutter area home the entire time.  When not at work, Lieutenant Lybarger can often be found at a local sporting event coaching his children and other youth in our community. 

As a deputy, Nathan was assigned to the K9 Unit, Field Training Officer, and a Detective assigned to investigate criminal street gangs.

In 2016, Lieutenant Lybarger promoted to the rank of Sergeant and returned to patrol to supervise a patrol team.  In 2018, he was assigned to the Investigations Unit as the Chief of Investigations, where he supervised a group of detectives.  In 2019, he was promoted to Lieutenant in the Operations Division.

Lieutenant Lybarger has been a member of the SWAT Team since 2007 and is now the teams Tactical Commander as part of the Yuba-Sutter Regional SWAT Team.
