Undersheriff Nicholas Morawcznski

Undersheriff Morawcznski began his law enforcement career as a Yuba County Deputy Sheriff in 1997.  As a Deputy, Undersheriff Morawcznski worked as a Field Training Officer, Resident Foothill Deputy and SWAT operator.  In 2002, Undersheriff Morawcznski took on the position of Welfare Fraud Investigator with Yuba County before moving on to the Yuba City Police Department in 2005.  During his time at the Yuba City Police Department, Undersheriff Morawcznski was assigned to Patrol and Investigations.  He was a member of the agency’s SWAT team, rising to the position of SWAT Commander.  As a Patrol Sergeant, he also oversaw the departments Field Training Program.  Undersheriff Morawcznski was the recipient of two Life Saving Awards, the Distinguished Service Medal and chosen as the department’s Officer of the Year in 2010.

Undersheriff Morawcznski holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Management.  He is a 2016 graduate of the U.C. Davis Leadership Program and a 2020 graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Undersheriff Morawcznski was raised in the Yuba County foothills where he still makes his home with his wife and three children.
