Yuba County Victim Witness dogs serve as reading partners for kids

Dogs are humans’ best friends, and the Yuba County Library has embraced that with its new Tales to Tails reading program.
Emotional support dogs from the Yuba County Probation Victim Services team have stepped in as reading partners for local children, to help build confidence and fluency in reading.Jason and Jax story time hosts Victim Witness Program Manager Jason as storyteller, while dog Jax hangs out with the kids. Child and Puppy Reading Time is a one-on-one session where children can read to pups Etha or Tusca in a private and comfortable setting.
The first Tales to Tails event was in November, the next sessions being:
--Thursday, Dec. 5 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
--Thursday, Dec. 19 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
