Commercial Burglary Arrest

On Monday 4/5/2021 at approximately 10:45 p.m.,  Yuba County Sheriff’s Department arrested 30-year-old Robert Berry of Santa Monica for burglary of the Foothill Ace Hardware store in the 13000 block of Willow Glen Rd in Oregon House.

Deputies and CHP responded to an alarm activation at the Foothill Ace Hardware store at 9:30 p.m. Monday night, after the front glass doors to the business were broken. After determining there was no longer a suspect on scene, units searching the area were alerted about an hour later by a citizen that reported seeing a suspicious man walking in the area following the burglary. Shortly thereafter, deputies located the man described in the 7000 block of Marysville Rd near Frenchtown Rd, and made contact.

That man, later identified as Robert Berry, was uncooperative and refused to identify himself. After further investigation, Berry was found to be in possession of stolen property taken from the hardware store and he was arrested and booked into the Yuba County Jail for 459 PC/Burglary, 594(b)(1) PC/Vandalism, and 647(f) PC/Drunk in Public.
