Stolen Vehicle Arrest

On Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at approximately 10:20 a.m., a Yuba County Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol in the Arboga area, attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a reckless driver in a 2002 Ford F250 truck, in the area of Ella Avenue and Arboga Road. The driver, later identified as 56-year-old Rodney Pesnell of Olivehurst, took off at a high rate of speed and eventually drove into an orchard along Feather River Blvd near Plumas Avenue, where he and a passenger abandoned the truck.

The truck was determined to be stolen out of North Sacramento. Pesnell, identified as the driver by the Deputy, was located walking away from the vehicle and was detained. A second subject, identified as 34-year-old Justin Clayton was also located nearby and arrested on a Sutter County warrant.

Prior to his arrest this date; Rodney Pesnell was just released from the Yuba County Jail at approximately 4 a.m. the same morning after serving a sentence for a parole violation. He had been out of custody less than 7 hours. Pesnell was re-booked into the Yuba County Jail on a new charge of Auto Theft.
