At approximately 2:15 p.m. on 9/15/2021 on Hwy 70 in Olivehurst, a Yuba County Sheriff Deputy was in pursuit of a truck that was towing a reported stolen trailer that failed to yield to a traffic stop shortly after 2pm in East Linda. After entering the highway, the suspect vehicle was involved in a vehicle collision with a second uninvolved vehicle occupied by two people, who were transported by ambulance to Adventist-Rideout Hospital with potentially life threatening injuries.

The driver and sole occupant of the suspect vehicle ran from the scene of the collision, but was immediately detained.  This remains an active and ongoing investigation.

California Highway Patrol responded to conduct the vehicle collision investigation, which is underway. Hwy 70 southbound has one lane closed at this time.
