Additional Suspect Wanted for Burglaries

Forbestown, Ca. – Yuba County Sheriff Detectives have identified a second suspect in a string of burglaries,  including the vehicle and equipment thefts from Browns Valley Irrigation District reported on 10/29/2021. 51-year-old Sean Allen Lange of Forbestown is wanted for several felonies including Burglary, Auto Theft, Possession of Stolen Property, and Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition by a Prohibited Person.

Following the November 5, 2021 arrest of Hubert Townshend in Rackerby for possession of stolen property from the Browns Valley Irrigation District burglary, as well as property from thefts in Butte and Shasta County, the continuing investigation led detectives to a second suspect and different location of additional stolen property in Forbestown.

On 11-15-21, Yuba County Detectives executed a search warrant on New York Flat Road in Forbestown, where they observed a white Ford F-150 and a white Polaris Ace on the property. The truck matched the description of the suspect vehicle depicted in multiple security videos of recent property crimes, including the burglary at Browns Valley Irrigation District (BVID). As detectives began to serve the warrant at the New York Flat Rd property, Sean Lange fled on the Polaris Ace and evaded capture. The Polaris was later determined to be the one stolen from BVID last month. During the search warrant service, Detectives located numerous other items of stolen property, including generators, a Honda ATV, Stihl power equipment, a flatbed trailer, an Echo leaf blower, and other miscellaneous tools. Detectives also located multiple firearms and ammunition at the property.

If anyone knows the location of Sean Allen Lange or has any additional information, we ask that they contact the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office at 530-749-7777.
