Looking up your address on the Federal Communications Commission map – and ensuring that the information on your Internet service is accurate – will help steer more funding to Yuba County to expand broadband. Areas of the county – including the foothills and some valley areas – don’t have strong, reliable Internet service.
Investing in high-speed Internet infrastructure will not only improve quality of life in several facets including work, education, and health, it will also provide a landscape where residents will win with competitive Internet prices.
In October 2021, the Yuba County Board of Supervisors approved the Yuba County Broadband Master Plan, which offers policy guidance on improving broadband availability. In July this year, the County partnered with SiFi Networks to bring a fiber optics network to Linda, Olivehurst, and Plumas Lake – with expansion planned to Arboga -- at no cost to taxpayers.
