Yuba County Ordinance Code Section 7.07.203 states that every Advanced/Alternative OWTS approved shall be subject to the Operation, Maintenance, and Monitoring Program. Through the program, YCEH ensures that all alternative advanced OWTS are operated and maintained in conformance with these requirements. There are approximately 50 advanced/alternative OWTS permitted for use in Yuba County. These system owners contract with certified maintenance providers to conduct an annual operations inspection of their OWTS. Every other year YCEH inspectors accompany the maintenance provider to verify continued operation of the system.
