Lieutenant Dana Fishburn

Lt. Fishburn


Dana Fishburn currently serves as the Correctional Lieutenant at the Yuba County Jail. Prior to her arrival at the Sheriff’s Department in June 2020, she gained over 24 years of federal law enforcement experience in several roles within the Department of Homeland Security. Her knowledge and expertise encompasses many facets to include fugitive operations and targeting, custody management and transportation as well as domestic operations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Mrs. Fishburn served in the United States Air Force from 1987-1991 and she remained in the USAF reserves until 1998. In 1996, she began her career in Bakersfield with the former U.S. Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS). In 2000, she promoted to Special Agent and in 2006 transferred to Enforcement and Removal Operations as a Supervisory Detention and Deportation Officer. In 2008, Mrs. Fishburn promoted to an Assistant Field Office Director in San Francisco where she oversaw several programs before taking a position, which introduced her to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department in 2011. She remained working for ICE at the Yuba County Jail as a compliance officer from 2011 to 2016. In 2016, Mrs. Fishburn left Yuba County to return to ICE in Sacramento where she oversaw the operation and administration of three office locations to include Sacramento, Stockton and Redding. Mrs. Fishburn’s supervisory experience has been beneficial to the mission challenges the department faces on a daily basis.
