Lieutenant Brandon Spear

Lt. Brandon Spear was born and raised in Yuba County and graduated from Wheatland High School in 1999.  He and his wife Cotie have been married for 13 years and make their home in the Foothills of Yuba County. Lt. Spear attended the modular Police Academy at Yuba College and graduated in 2002, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from California Coast University.

Lt. Spear and his family have been very active in the community and their family currently operates the Museum of Forgotten warriors in Linda CA.

Lt. Spear began his career at the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department as a cadet in 2000 and was promoted to a Correctional Officer in 2002, before becoming a Full Time Deputy Sheriff on patrol from 2003 to 2016.  In 2016, Spear was promoted to Sergeant and worked as a patrol supervisor for several years.  During his time as a Sergeant, he had several different assignments including Resident Foothill Sergeant, Asset Forfeiture Liaison and METYU Coordinator before being promoted to Lieutenant in January 2021.    As a Lieutenant, he began in the Operations Division by overseeing the day-to-day patrol activities, the Reserve program, and Search and Rescue, Cadets, and METYU.
