The Department's Public Assistance Eligibility staff performs a
comprehensive eligibility determination process to assist local clients in
accessing public program services.
The Food Stamp Assistance Program provides low-income households with
an electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card which enables individuals to
provide a healthy diet for themselves and their family.
Medi-Cal is California's Medicaid health care
program, providing no-cost or low-cost health insurance for California
residents (children, pregnant women, families, the elderly, blind, and
disabled) with limited income and resources, and is funded by state and
federal tax revenue. Individuals may be automatically eligible for
Medi-Cal benefits if they receive cash assistance from SSI/SSP, CalWORKs,
Foster Care or the Adoption Assistance Program.
The
County
Medical Services Program (CMSP) is a program
which provides for the medical and dental needs of
medically indigent adults. Yuba County is one of 34 counties
in California which provides this service
General Assistance is a loan/repayment program for
individuals with pending SSI/SSP applications or for adults without
resources or other means of support.
Some households with an eligible child may receive time
limited cash assistance. Employment Services is a mandatory program
for cash aid recipients and provides employment and training related
services to assist those participants to become employed.
