Services provided by the Human Resources and Organizational Services Department to County departments, employees, and the Board of Supervisors include:

• Recruiting and applicant testing
• Policy development and administration
• Processing personnel actions
• Orienting, training, and developing staff
• Administering the classification and compensation plan
• Managing labor and employee relations, including contract negotiations and administration, grievances, and discipline
• Affirmative action in employment
• Benefits administration for the County
• Employee performance appraisal and recognition
• Managing appeal processes
• Advice and consultation on all personnel matters
