The County Clerk has birth and death records for events occurring in Yuba County and for marriage records if the license was issued in Yuba County.
In an attempt to stop the illegal use of vital records, and as part of statewide efforts to reduce identity theft, California law only allows authorized individuals to receive certified copies that can be used to establish identity. All others will be issued Certified Informational Copies that are not valid to establish identity, and contain wording on the face of the document that states, "Informational, Not a Valid Document to Establish Identity."HOW TO OBTAIN A CERTIFIED COPY OF A VITAL RECORD:
In Person: Copies may be obtained at the County Clerk's office, 915 8th Street, Suite 107, Marysville between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
By Mail: Certified copy requests received by mail must include a signed sworn statement with the signature acknowledged by a notary public and a self addressed stamped envelope.

Fees for certified copies of vital records are set by the State of California. All fees are non-refundable. If the document requested is not located a Certificate of No Record will be issued and the fee will be retained.
