Olivehurst, Ca.- Yuba County Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested an 18 year old man from Olivehurst, Ca identified as Kevin Vang, for the rape and sexual assault of a 12 year old Marysville girl.

Throughout the investigation, Detectives learned that Vang enticed the victim with the false pretense that he would purchase a vape pen for her. Vang picked up the victim near her residence after she snuck out and they went to a nearby park in Linda, Ca. Vang committed sexual acts on the victim throughout the couple of hours he had her in his vehicle. After Vang was finished he dropped the victim off near her residence.

With the assistance of the Yuba County DA’s Office and Yuba County Victim Witness, a prompt multi-disciplinary interview (MDI) was conducted with the victim. It was learned throughout the interview that Vang may have committed similar sexual acts with other underage girls with the false pretense of buying them vape pens.

On 08-01-2022, Vang was taken into custody at his home without any further issues. Vang was booked into the Yuba County Jail on charges of Rape and multiple counts of Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Minor, with a $200,000.00 dollar bail.
